The Kids Physio Works ‘Therapist Tree’ continues to grow!

2014 proved to be a busy year for Chris and Neil at Kids Physio Works and it was here that we have seen our ‘Therapist Tree’ establishing its branches! So I thought I’d take this opportunity to introduce our budding team to you…

Chris Smith
Chris trained at Keele University and moved to London to work within 4 NHS London Teaching Hospitals. Chris gained experience in several areas of Paediatric Physiotherapy before settling in the South East of England working within North East Essex PCT, Mid Essex PCT and South West Essex PCT. Chris is the Director and Lead Therapist at Kids Physio Works and alongside his clinical role, enjoys providing lectures to health professional groups including Physiotherapy students at Undergraduate and Postgraduate level at the University of Essex.

Neil Webster
Neil’s first degree was Sport and Exercise Science at the University of Essex. It was during the early stages of his degree that Neil realised his passion for Physiotherapy and consequently continued his studies for a further 2 years to complete a Masters in Physiotherapy. Neil has spent some valuable time at an Essex based Child Development Centre which has provided him with a wealth of experience working with children with complex needs.

Kate Mitchell
Kate completed her first degree in Psychology and chose to specialise in Child Psychology in her final year. After finishing her degree, Kate wished to continue studying towards a Masters in Physiotherapy in order to expand her knowledge and understanding in physical rehabilitation. At Kids Physio Works, Kate continues to embrace her passion in Paediatrics on a full time basis!

Claire Downing
Claire is our newest member of the team and I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome her! Claire studied BSc Physiotherapy at London Southbank University whilst working part time as a Physiotherapy Assistant. Like us all, Claire has always had a deep routed interest in the field of paediatrics and is another full time member of the team, including covering our weekend clinics!

Kelly Martin
Kelly is our part time Physiotherapy Assistant at Kids Physio Works. Kelly assists our therapists on Tuesday and Thursday mornings! (And yes, she is as fun and crazy as her colourful socks!)

Sophie Madder
Alongside studying towards her Bsc Physiotherapy qualification at the University of Essex, Sophie is working Sophie Madderpart time as our Physiotherapy Assistant. Her passion is within the field of paediatrics and at Kids Physio Works she is gaining a wealth of experience and knowledge whilst assisting our team on a Friday!

Emma Henty
I studied towards my BSc Physiotherapy at the University of Essex whilst working as a Physiotherapy Assistant within the paediatric services of South West Essex PCT. It was here that I met Chris and on graduating, I began to work for Chris alongside my rotational physiotherapy post within adult therapy. It was clear to me whilst training that I wished to embark upon the specialist area of paediatric physiotherapy and have welcomed the opportunity to work at Kids Physio Works. You’ll see me in clinic on a Sunday and Monday!

So that’s us folks, the KPW Team. All a little crazy, all passionate in rehabilitating your little ones and all BIG kids at heart… well it is Paediatrics after all!
